Philips. Not a name that leaps to mind when you're talking about PC audio technology. Yet the company has been making PC sound cards for over five years ranging in quality from pretty mediocre to pretty good. None of the products has been an absolute strikeout, but there haven't been any home runs either. Philips bought out LSI's audio processor group several years ago. LSI made a PCI-based audio processor known as the Thunderbird.
