CDRLabs reviews OptoRite's External 8x USB 2.0 DVD?RW TED80Y1
While not as well known as Plextor or Lite-On, OptoRite is quickly making a name for themselves in the optical storage industry. Within a few short years, they've grown to become one of Taiwan's leading manufacturers of optical storage products. Focusing on research and development capabilities as well as innovational design, OptoRite has produced a wide range of products including a number of CD-RW's, combo drives and DVD writers for the OEM and retail markets.
Like many companies, OptoRite has set their sights on the growing portable drive market. This spring, they unveiled their first truly portable DVD writer, the TED80Y1. While small in size, this drive sports specs like 8x DVD+R, 4x DVD-R and 4x DVD?RW writing speeds and a maximum DVD read speed of 8x. The TED80Y1 also includes features like 24x CD reading and writing speeds, ExacLink buffer underrun protection and a USB 2.0 interface.
